As a Dial-a-Doula volunteer, you can sign up for on-call shifts based on your availability, and gain valuable experience helping women and their families.

To volunteer with us, you must attend an MDHHS approved Birth Doula training. You can complete your training anywhere, as long as it is MDHHS-approved. Our doulas are also processed through the University of Michigan Health System's Volunteer Services.

 

The steps to becoming a Dial-a-Doula volunteer include:

1. Complete a Birth Doula Training

2. Submit a written application to be accepted into the Dial-a-Doula Program 

3. Become a University of Michigan Health System volunteer

4. Attend a Dial-a-Doula Information Session

5. Review Health and Racial Equity education and reading materials
