ABOUT DIAL-A-DOULA
We connect birthing people coming to the University of Michigan Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital for labor and delivery with trained volunteer birth doulas. We have doulas on-call 24-hours.

REQUESTING SERVICES
Our services are free to patients laboring and delivering at Von Voigtlander. We provide services on a first-come, first-served basis. You can request a birth doula through your nurse!
SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Doulas are community health workers who provide non-medical care for mothers before, during, and after labor and delivery.

We provide social, emotional, educational and logistical support to increase access to quality health care services

We are advocates for birthing people; our skills and services include:

Labor position support and recommendations

Comfort measures: aromatherapy, massages, hydrotherapy

Breastfeeding assistance (if desired)

Support for partners, friends, and family

Providing information on community resources and referrals
