Jillian Hoyt

I am a student at U of M studying biology on a pre-med track with the hope of someday becoming an OB/GYN. I'm passionate about women's health and am thinking of adding a minor in gender and health in the future. I am excited to be a volunteer doula with the program and to provide support during the labor and delivery process.
Yashodhara Enz

Hi! I am a student at UM School or Nursing, working to pursue a career as a Nurse Midwife. I am passionate about caring for women, birthing people, and their children. I have had a long-time love of the magic of birth and am very excited to be a part of the process through dial-a-doula as a doula. I originally became interested in work with mothers after hearing about my mother's own birth story of having me at home. I think that brith can be an incredibly powerful and empowering process and am looking forward to supporting our birthing people and families in it! In my spare time I enjoy spending time in nature and dancing with friends.

I'm Emma Schmidt! I'm a first gen college student at UofM studying Public Health and Gender and Health. I currently work as a research assistant in an epidemiology lab in the School of Public Health. I love baking, napping, dogs, plants, and making crafts. I started volunteering with Dial-A-Doula in March 2019.
Josie Granner

Hello! I am a trauma-informed birth doula, a nurse, and a grad student at U of M. I am passionate about mental health during the childbearing year, which is why I became a doula and a nursing researcher. Birth is such a special time, and each person’s birth story is absolutely unique. As a doula, I love helping create a peaceful labor environment, a calm headspace, and a unified sport system during labor.

In my free time, I love reading fiction, playing games, and loving on my cat and dog. Some of my favorite things to do are going for long walks in nature, and cooking with loved ones over a glass of wine.

I am an undergraduate at the University of Michigan with a major in Gender and Health and a minor in Spanish. After I graduate, I hope to pursue midwifery. I am a new volunteer with Dial-a-Doula, and I believe in the bodily knowledge and power of every birthing person. In my free time, I love crafting, yoga, and hanging out with my cat. I am so excited to work with and support people throughout the birth process!
